All of our pediatricians are highly educated professionals who have undergone rigorous academic and clinical training in pediatrics. We maintain a high level of expertise through continuing education in order to provide the most up-to-date care for the patients we are privileged to serve.

James Clarke Mack, II, MD, FAAP believes there is nothing more satisfying than seeing children and their parents grow and flourish as a family. “It is an honor to be involved with maintaining both the physical and mental health of my patients,” he says. Dr. Mack completed medical school and his pediatric training at the University of Kentucky in 1980. In 1977 he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society. Since being certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1982, Dr. Mack has been in private practice in Lexington, KY. Today, some of Dr. Mack’s first patients are parents themselves and now bring their children to see him!
Dr. Mack and his wife, Barbara, have two sons, Daniel and David and a daughter-in-law, Erica. They are very proud grandparents of Carter, Caroline, and Preston! Whenever they can, the Mack’s like to spend time at the beach fishing, bird watching and enjoying life.
Megan Taylor Poole, MD, FAAP, is a graduate of University of Kentucky School of Medicine and completed her residency there in 2006. Since being certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2006, Dr. Poole has been in private practice in Lexington, KY. The daughter of an Air Force helicopter pilot and nurse practitioner, Dr. Poole says she learned early on the importance of family. “We moved around quite a lot, so my family was my anchor. I love what children bring to families – an energy and sense of connectedness.
Dr. Poole and her husband, McGee, have 2 children, John David and Claire. She is an avid runner and loves being on the water, whether it is skiing on Lake Cumberland or playing at the pool. Dr. Poole believes that being a parent means loving your kids unconditionally, picking your battles carefully and buying stock in patience!
Kibbe Crowley, M.D.
We are confident that she exemplifies our commitment to provide your child with compassionate and personal pediatric care. Mack and Poole Pediatrics continues to be committed to providing each child with timely and quality personal care. By adding Dr. Crowley,

Dr. Crowley earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in 2005 and completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 2008. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She joins us from Austin, Texas where she has been in private practice for the past five years. She recently moved to Lexington with her husband Ryan, who is a Professor of Education at UK, their children, Evelyn and Emmet, and their dogs Ty and Lily.
Dr. Crowley is passionate about her commitment to families and helping families raise their children. She believes she has the best job in the world caring for children and their families. We believe her five years of pediatric experience will be a great asset to our practice.
Rachel Thomas, D.O.
Rachel Thomas, D.O. earned her medical degree from Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Pikeville in 2012 and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Kentucky in 2015.
Dr. Thomas is a native of Elizabethtown, KY. Her mother and father, a cardiac rehab nurse and a veterinarian, raised their four girls to be hard workers and steadfastly devoted to helping others. Dr. Thomas is an avid piano player and loves spending time with her family, especially her 2 year old nephew, Beau. Dr. Thomas wants to make an impact on the lives of her patients, empowering them with the ability to lead a healthy life.
